And for your delight here's some tasty Halloween drink recipes to wash down all those Halloween sweets later on tonight...

Vampire's Kiss Martini

Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz Finlandia Vodka
1 1/2 oz Korbel Champagne
3/4 oz Chambord
red sugar for rimming

Preparation: Rim the glass with sugar (you can use food coloring to make it red) or drop in a set of wax vampire teeth for a real surprise. Pour vodka and half of the Chambord in a martini glass. Top with Champagne. Pour in the remaining Chambord over the back of a spoon to make it float.

The Ghost

Ingredients:

1.25 oz. Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka
.25 oz. Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
.25 oz. half-and-half
.25 oz. simple syrup

Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Shake to combine, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass rimmed with white chocolate. Garnish with white chocolate shavings.

Natalie + Luke 10.17.09

I've been so busy, I hadn't blogged about my awesome clients, Natalie and Luke who tied the knot 2 weeks ago at The Bethwood!
Natalie and Luke wed during an interfaith, beautiful and emotional ceremony officiated by celebrant Bonnie Cushing. Their ceremony was based in their love story, from the second they met until the second they stood right before each other about to exchange vows, did I say emotional?
The Sweetest Couple

After the ceremony Natalie and Luke joined their guests for cocktail hour. Guests mingled up while enjoying a plethora of yummy foods including a Mashed Potato Bar!

Natalie and Luke’s reception was both fun and touching! Their friend and bridesmaid, Amy wrote a song for them which they listened and danced to right after toasts. It was very touching and it was for Amy, we learned about Luke's love for music.

Natalie and Luke really are one of the sweetest couples I’ve had the opportunity of working with. It was an amazing view to see how they enjoyed every second of their wedding, holding each other, smiling all night and dancing the night away with friends and family.
And to celebrate the Sweetest Couple on the Sweetest Day...
We created a deliciously tempting Candy Bar for the last hour of Reception.
Guests enjoyed sweets from soup to nuts...the candy bar displayed about every existent type of candy! My favorite; Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Robyn's favorite; Candy Corn!
I am sure guests enjoyed a very Sweet ride home...and a sugar rush twist

Natalie and Luke, thank you so much for allowing me to become a part of your wedding day and for sharing your love story. It was such an honor and a pleasure working with you coordinating your beautiful day!!
Hope you're having an amazing honeymoon and enjoying sunny Mexico!

Thought of the Day

What counts in making a happy marriage is not so much how compatible you are, but how you deal with incompatibility.

Happy Sweetest Day!

Today is the Sweetest Day of 2009!
And the sweetest couple is tying the knot today;
Congratulations to Natalie and Luke! We'll see you in a few hours.
So what is the Sweetest Day?
It is a Hallmark Holiday.
Origin: Sweetest Day is an observance celebrated on the 3rd Saturday of October, primarily in the Great Lakes region and parts of the Northeast United States. Once known as a day to spread love and cheer to the unfortunate (sick and poor), this popular holiday in the northern U.S. is now known as a day to show affection to the loved ones in your life.
It is described by Retail Confectioners International as an "occasion which offers all of us an opportunity to remember not only the sick, aged and orphaned, but also friends, relatives and associates whose helpfulness and kindness we have enjoyed".
Today: Sweetest Day now largely involves giving small presents such as greeting cards, candy, and flowers to loved ones. While it is not as large or widely observed as Valentine's Day, it is still celebrated in parts of the United States, despite persistent allegations of being a "Hallmark holiday."

***************************************************
Make sure to enjoy the sweetness of a sugar hangover today, in fact "The Sweetest Day" is another excuse to eat candy, lots of chocolate and get presents from the boyfriend, fiancé or husband.
On this day, steal enough time from the turmoil of routine affairs, to bring a bit of good cheer to those you love. A present, perhaps, and more than that add a loving word--a smile--a kiss. This life we lead is but a segment in the eternal order of things. Too soon we find ourselves out of the running, living on memories of days gone by. Build yourself a heritage for that time, for that, the Sweetest day is worthy of our attention. xoxo

Wishing you all the Sweetest Day,

Rachel + Michael 10.11.09

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of coordinating
Rachel and Michael's wedding day at
The Manor in West Orange, NJ.

Rachel made such a beautiful bride and Michael (the groom) was as wonderful as they come. They are both extremely kind and thoughtful people, the kind that you just want to go hang out with on all evening. Simply amazing people. And their wedding day was simply wonderful.

This wedding was all around filled with wonderful people. Her bridal party attendants were just as sweet as the Bride and Groom...and they were all gorgeous ladies!

Rachel made a gorgeous bride. I loved how natural she looked and I am in love with her dress.

Her centerpieces gave a touch of warmth to the table setting of Ivory linens.

I loved that we used lots of candlelight for the newlywed's sweetheart table. It gave it the perfect touch.

Rachel and Michael and their guests had an amazing time. They had an amazing and fun crowd. So much fun, that right after the reception they went to party some more!

Dear Rachel and Michael; I always say I'm so lucky to be blessed with such great couples and the two of you were no exception. I hope that you have an amazing time in Mexico and that you continue to have an amazing life together! Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Y!

Lovely Finds {Cake Sign}

Who says you have to settle on just one cake flavor?
A multi-flavored wedding cake is a great option if you can't decide on just one flavor.
How do you inform your guests on the variety of flavors you've selected for your wedding cake?

This tented card by Lazaro Designs is a clever way to cue your guests on the different flavors that compromise your wedding cake.
