Roycelyn + Daniel 11.08.09

Can I just start off by saying that I absolutely love these two! When I first met Roycelyn and Daniel, I knew they were very special…they are both so beautiful…inside and out.

Working with them for a year was a blast. They were always so kind, funny and easy to talk and plan with-from our first meeting up to their wedding day. They must be two of the coolest, laid back, positive and down to earth people I have worked with. And Roycelyn is seriously one of the nicest and sweetest girls in the world and had such a great attitude about everything!

Their ceremony and reception took place at The Graycliff in Moonachie, New Jersey. It had to be on one of the most beautiful Sundays of November, warm and sunny, the perfect wedding day...and Josh Lynn did his usual amazing job at documenting the day!

Photo by For Your Event Planning

Roycelyn and Daniel’s wedding day started off at The Ranaissance Meadowlands with bridal party, mimosas and the amazing team of beauty pros of Pink Comb Salon/I Do Hair and Makeup; the lovely ladies Michelle and Rosalie-and ended with Danny busting a move on the dance floor; a famous back-flip...energy produced by the sound systems and beats of Touch of Class DJ’s! Mario and Marco rocking the house just how they do.

Daniel and Roycelyn saw each other before the ceremony so that Josh Lynn could do all of the photographs beforehand at the Meadowlands Environmental Center. The scenery there is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Let me tell you, pre-ceremony pictures is the way to go! Taking their formals prior to their ceremony allowed them to enjoy their family and friends during cocktail hour.

Funny Friday!

APPLES AND WINE

Women are like apples on trees...

The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just take the rotten apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy - The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing.

They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.

Now Men... Men are like a fine wine...

They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the pits out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

Tradition Tuesday: El Lazo (Lasso)

Throughout the ages, the marriage ceremony has always been a fertile bed for the seeds of superstition and changing customs. These seeds still thrive among some faith based traditions like El Lazo (Lasso). This tradition is usually performed within Hispanic and Filipino families and is associated with a wedding prayer during the ceremony.

The symbolism of the Lazo (Lasso) is to show the union and protection of marriage.

Lazo (sometimes called, "lasso") or rope is placed around the bride and groom's shoulders (groom's shoulder's first) in the form of an "8" (the infinity symbol) - after they have exchanged their vows - to symbolize their everlasting union. This is usually done by the officiant/priest, however, family members can also take part in this ritual. The couple wears the lazo (lasso) throughout the remainder of the ceremony.

The Lazo (Lasso) is sometimes made of rosary beads, white ribbon, flowers, fabric, silver, crystal or elaborately painted wood. It can also be placed around the couple's necks, or wrists. If the couple has children; they may also be included as they will definitely be a part of the new family.

After the prayer and before either attempts to rise, at the end of the ceremony, the lazo(lasso) is removed by the same people who put it on and given to the bride as a memento of her becoming the mistress of the groom's heart and home and shows their promise to always be together side-by-side.

Sooner or Later

"Sooner or later we begin to understand that love is more than verses on valentines and romance in the movies. We begin to know that love is here and now, real and true, the most important thing in our lives. For love is the creator of our favorite memories and the foundation of our fondest dreams. Love is a promise that is always kept, a fortune that can never be spent, a seed that can flourish in even the most unlikely of places. And this radiance that never fades, this mysterious and magical joy, is the greatest treasure of all -one known only by those who love."

{Inspiration} Black + White + Polka Dot

I have always loved how Black and White combinations look; elegant and sophisticated.

I came across this inspiration board while searching for ideas for our bride-to-be Sharon. She will be having a Black and White wedding and will be adding Hot Pink details

Enjoy!

Create Your FREE Wedding Website

Creating a website will help you share the planned details of your wedding.
It's one of the best ways to communicate with your guests and loved ones through-out the planning process.
Project Wedding offers you a FREE Website!

And if you're wondering where to start, here are some tips on what to include in your wedding website:

~ Include dates, times, locations and what type of event it will be (religious ceremony, destination wedding, outdoor wedding, lakeside wedding etc...). Add maps to the ceremony and reception venues, especially if they are in different locations. This simple information will answer most of the questions your guests might have.

~ If guests are coming from out of town, use the website to make their travel arrangements easier. Include maps, hotel, (don't forget the room blocks)and rental car information. If possible include a price, so that guests have an idea of the variations of hotels, alternatives. Help them feel right at home with suggested local restaurants and local activities to entertain during their stay. If children are coming, make sure you include some kid-friendly ideas.

~Car transportation or taxi phone numbers to get to/from hotel to the site of the ceremony and wedding reception, (if they’re in different places). Directions will also be very helpful.

~ Your love story-- "how you met"and a picture of both of you (or a few, you can create albums). People love to delve into the personal lives of others and your story will not only provide interesting content, it will make your wedding more personal for your guests. **Including this information is optional**

~ Your registry information (and links)... (though it can’t go on your invitations, it can go here!)

~ Your attendants, their names, their role in your wedding and tell how you know them or why you chose them. Again, this kind of personal information is optional but will be interesting to your guests. This helps guests know who's is in the bridal party and know how they are affiliated--(bridal shower questions??...hint,hint)

***Avoid rambling. A little personal information is interesting; your life story from day one might be too much. Use your best judgment.

~ You may also like to include an RSVP feature so that people can RSVP via the internet (and you'll save a little paper!)

~A link to an online photo sharing site (photobucket, snapfish, kodak easy share etc..) so that people can post pictures before and after the wedding.

~ Updates or information that you think guests should know about but that you may have been unable to include with the invite; rehearsal, rehearsal dinner etc, traditions you may be incorporating into your wedding with an explanation and description.

~ A Guestbook! It will keep track of your website visitors and it will allow your visitors to show some love by leaving you a comment about your wedding webpage, wedding plans etc...

Have fun creating your website!
